Stave wood color varies from lighter wood staves or darker outdoor weathered rustic look wood staves. Staves will contain some surface cracks in the staves or around the bung area but will not be broken in half, most all cracks are less then 1/4" deep. The staves will also have rust stains on them from the metal bands that once held the barrel together, on some staves the rust stains will be more visible.
