Bourbon is America's only native spirit. By law Bourbon must be made in
NEW American white oak barrels. The many years spent aging in new
barrels is one of the reasons Kentucky Bourbon is the best whiskey in the world today. After the golden liquid is removed, the barrels are exported where they are REUSED to make Scotch and Irish whiskey, rum, and tequila. It is our pleasure to share this valuable part of our Kentucky heritage with you. |

New & Vintage, Bourbon & Wine Barrel Heads | ||||
| Our barrel heads are
made
from
top grade, tight grain,
quarter sawn, American oak. To
make the head of the
barrel, five or six head staves are fitted together with wooden dowels. The whiskey
barrel heads are
21 inches
in
diameter and about one inch thick. All
Kentucky
Whiskey Barrels are charred on the
inside,
the char is very easily removed. We offer used
planed heads,
new heads,
and new flawed heads with no charring, see descriptions below. (some new heads are charred). | ||||

 Used White Oak Wine Barrel Heads Clear White Oak on Front. Rich Purple Wine Stain on Back Available in 2 Sizes | UWBH-22 Vintage wine barrel heads, 22" dia. $20.00 ea. UWBH-24 Vintage wine barrel heads, 24" dia. $25.00 ea. Made of 1 inch thick American white oak, these beautiful heads are not charred on the back like the vintage whiskey barrel heads. Wine aging in the barrels turns the back purple. These barrels come in 22 inch diameter and 24 inch diameter. They are ether tongue and grooved or dowel pegged together. They will have to be glued up or wooden strips nailed on the backs to hold together. We can glue them up for you for an extra $10.00 per head. These heads may have a winery stamp on them. | |||
